FANDOM: Harry Potter
CHARACTER/PAIRING/TRIAD: Theodore Nott
GENRE: Gen.
TABLE: Dark
PROMPT: #12 -Broken
RATING: PG
WORD COUNT: 234 words.
SUMMARY: This is why Theodore shouldn't be looking in the job advertisements section of the Quibbler.
WARNINGS: This takes place after Deathly Hallows. That is a warning.
DISCLAIMER: ...I'm not nearly rich enough to own the Harry Potter series. That's JKR's job. :D
The War was over.
Technically, his side had lost, but Theodore -having always been the pragmatic member of Slytherin house- had refused both to take the Dark Mark and to participate in the occupation of Hogwarts. So, he was the one who had the distinct advantage to not be locked up in Azkaban -for which he was thankful.
Unfortunately, there were some bad points too. The house -his father's house, although he knows that it belonged to his mother before her 'accident'- was taken off them, as was most of his family's money. While he knew that it was for the best, there was no denying that his old life had been broken open. And now he had to make a new one. In any way that he could.
So he went to the Headmistress of Hogwarts and applied for the only job that was available. She had thought he was joking. He had realised about halfway through the interview that something wasn't quite right, but had ignored it. After all, even if the vacancy wasn't for a Potions teacher, as he had been told, it still couldn't be that bad, right?
As Theodore Nott waited outside the door of his first class, he swore inventively about never trusting any job advertisements from the Quibbler. Then, sighing, he walked in.
"Hello, class. I'm Professor Nott and I'll be teaching you Muggle Studies this year..."

CHARACTER/PAIRING/TRIAD: Kenji Maezono
GENRE: Gen.
TABLE: Dark
PROMPT: #9 -Dark
RATING: PG-13 (12)
WORD COUNT: 216 words.
SUMMARY: 'Like he's supposed to be somewhere else, anywhere else but in this cold dark room in a barely fortifiable base held by a obsessive genocidal psychotic with father issues.' Kenji and what might have happened if he had survived.
WARNINGS: AU, two swearwords, some implied character death.
DISCLAIMER: If I owned BRII, I wouldn't have so many characterisation problems and there might have been a bigger fandom. :D
He sits in a dark corner of the base.
He feels wrong, being here. It's not just guilt that he's still alive while most of his friends are dead, although that does come into it. It's not just the fact that he's been less than ten feet from the bastard that not only murdered his father, but Shimura's as well. And Jo's mother, and Kurosawa's entire family. The only reassurance he can manage to give himself is that Nanami has, as well, and so far both of them have failed to strangle the fucker.
But it isn't just that. It's the feeling that he shouldn't be here, like someone else should be here instead. Aoi, possibly Asakura, maybe even Shibaki. Not him, and probably not Nanami either.
It feels like he's in the wrong place at the wrong time. Like he's supposed to be somewhere else, anywhere else but in this cold dark room in a barely fortifiable base held by a obsessive genocidal psychotic with father issues.
He isn't supposed to be here. He knows that. But if he isn't supposed to be here, then why is he?
Why are any of us here? What did we do to deserve this?
Somehow, he was pretty sure that he wouldn't like the answers to those questions.
