- Good news everyone! [/Futurama] For one afternoon a week, I will be working at a charity shop about half a mile from my house. Look, I know, it isn't a proper job, but it's a reference to replace the...um...terrible one that I've been suspecting that my last employers have been giving anyone whom asks. And it's experience. And I should still be able to get Jobseekers, since it's four hours a week.

- This is going to be hilarious (and possibly mean that there's more Darling/Brown fic on the lolitics meme, which cannot be a bad thing). Icon related, clearly (I need to find Headcases again on youtube).

- Didn't like Let's Kill Hitler. It was disappointing. There were good bits (like flashback!Amy realising that Rory actually genuinely fancies her, Rory punching out various people...okay, just Rory in general, then), but it feels like they're undoing all of the good work from last series in making me actually like River.

- I'm playing Mass Effect 2 again. Recruited Morinth for the first time. I need to get back into practice by the time 3 comes out. Unfortunately, this is a Normal difficulty playthrough, and I've only ever played it through on Casual before (yes, I died to the Praetorian on Horizon. Multiple fucking times).
- Still finding it hard to be enthused about politics at the moment. Which...says bad things about those fanfic WIP's I've still got sat on my computer. Although the AU with Blairite!Cameron, Leader of the Opposition!Burnham and slightly more evil!Tories is coming along slowly, if only because I don't have to write Osborne as anything more than a smug face from across the benches.

Going to vote for AV anyway. It isn't PR, but it's better than FPTP.

And as for the people that are voting no just to kick Nick Clegg in the face...really? I hate Nick Clegg as much as any other disgruntled person who voted Lib Dem at the last election and regrets it, but still. Priorities, people.

If you vote for AV, then you can metaphorically kick David Cameron in the face instead. Or George Osborne. Or Nick Griffin (yeah, despite all of the arguments that AV lets in extremists and that the BNP will take over Britain, what the no campaign hasn't been mentioning is that the BNP support FPTP. Yes, really).

Also? AV makes Charles Kennedy and Caroline Lucas come together to make Captain Planet for events. How is that not a good thing?

...Yeah. Lucy + political!apathy = still about 20% more political than most of the electorate. *bricked*

- ...Merrill tried to kill me. Bloody Torchwood.

- Work's going okay. I'm getting the hang of it now, which is good. XD
- So, word is on the internets that Charles Kennedy and Menzies Campbell have both specifically said that they're voting against the tuition fees increase. I don't know how reliable this news is, but if it's true, this makes me happy to be a Lib Dem for the first time since May.

- Ann Widdicombe has been voted off Strictly. As people who talked to me on Sunday already know, I am delighted by this news. [/understatement] I also still think that Kara was, as usual, undermarked, and that next year, Artem and Brendan should form an alliance against Len. Crazy lifts, awesome hats, and both of them topless should clearly be defining features.

- As of Monday, [livejournal.com profile] likeatruck's card is on its way. According to Royal Mail, this means that it should be there in time for Christmas. I do not trust Royal Mail, as everyone well knows.

- I will not be able to do all 78 fics for 12dayschristmas this year. I will, however, make the effort to do at least one fic for each day. And one full day of Hirono/Shinji (because I promised that I would).

ETA: Been re-reading my Ryuji posts. They were terrible (my paragraphing was shocking, the sidestory took up far too much of the storyline, and you can really tell that I wrote them at ridiculously late times at night between first year coursework essays), and yet...I can still remember how happy I was when I wrote them.

...Still think that V7 canon was better though. *coughs*
- 'Yours aye' is the best valediction ever.
- I...why did they have to make Rory an unperson? This makes me sad -particularly as I was squeeing about the fact that there was an actual honest-to-god couple in the TARDIS again- and for once, I'm hoping for a reset. ;_;
- For those people that don't know, I've been distracted by a pair of politics communities, one of which is an anonymous kink meme. I'm sorry. I just...have nothing else to do anymore.
- I still don't like George Osborne. He seems like a twat. These feelings have nothing to do with the fact that his constituency is just south of where I live. Not at all.
- Don't like either of the Milibands either. Quite like Andy Burnham, although every picture of him that I've found makes him look like he's about to burst into tears. Including the ones where he's smiling.
- Finished Dragon Age. Those ballistae come in handy. Don't know if the DLC are worth it though. Are they?
- I ship Osborne/Laws like burning.
- I believe that one of the Chaos Gods is inhabiting Alistair Darling's eyebrows (possibly Tzeentch). Darling himself is completely unaware of the entire thing, and thinks that it's normal for his eyebrows to occasionally try to strangle him/corrupt him to the side of Chaos.
- I find the very mention of Peter Bone, MP for Wellingborough and Rushden, hilarious.
- I can write anthropomorphic fic where Conservative is actually something other than completely and totally evil.
- I prefer detailed, cracky prompts (yes, this should not surprise anyone, but it surprised me a little).
- I have found a purpose for a seemingly useless (but awesome) module (second year, British Political History).
- Warrington South is now a Tory seat, as you may have noticed from my title. This is opposed to Warrington North, which is still Labour (mainly because their Labour MP actually has something resembling a spine, unlike our former one). I didn't vote for them (I think by now, most people that know me/are still reading my LJ probably know which way I voted).

- Yay for Caroline Lucas! That really brightened up my day. :)

- I was happy that Peter Robinson had a Portillo moment had his arse kicked was beaten in his seat, as I do not like the DUP. They seem like all of the creepy bits of the Tories that Cameron does not want people to see (no, not William Hague, creepier than that), but worse.

- The idea of a Tory/Lib Dem coalition makes my skin crawl a little. Not just because whenever people talk about it, I have a mental image of...never mind. Let's just say, I've been in fandom for far too long. *shudders*

- The BNP did not get any seats. That fact alone is worth a celebration, right?
So, continuing my post from last night, guess who overslept and missed her 9am lesson due to watching the epic that was the 2008 presidential election? XD

Also, the BBC coverage was awesome. Especially the bits with that guy going "Well, we should have Ohio's projected results right about now, seeing as how the polls closed TWO DAMNED HOURS AGO, but we don't. Excuse me while I go and flail in the corner."
So...guess who intends to be up all night watching the election?

And guess who has a 9am class on the other side of Liverpool City Centre from Lime Street Station?

Yeah. As if Career Planning didn't make me go to sleep normally. *shot*

Also? McCain/Lieberman. I wish I didn't ship it. *hangs head*
