Title: Beginning.
Fandom: Battle Royale II
Characters: Masami Shibaki, references to Haruya Sakurai.
Claim: General.
Prompt: The Fool.
Word Count: 357 words.
Rating: PG.
Warnings: None.
For all that Shikanotoride is rumoured to be a place to hold the people too young to be sent to a real prison, Masami doesn't think that it's too bad looking. A little prison like, perhaps, but no more than the last school that he was expelled from. About all that's really different is the faces and the simple fact that it's a boarding school, meaning that he might actually have to room with a person he can't beat in a knife-fight.
The person that he's supposed to be rooming with -he thinks that his name's Sakurai, but he's not sure because he wasn't listening when the teacher introduced them- doesn't look like the volatile type. He doesn't seem to be a sadistic psychopath either -although he did notice that there were a few in the class.
His luck has paid off again. And maybe, just maybe, he can actually find some friends in this place. After all, this is the last rung on the educational ladder. If he manages -and he's heard it was almost impossible, but he might be able to pull it off because he is just that awesome- to get himself expelled from this place, there's nowhere else that he can go.
This is his last chance to make friends and live a happy and normal life. So he has to be careful not to screw it up. But, equally so, he has to be himself to make friends, since he's not the kind of person that can keep a false persona going for very long. He's too direct for that kind of thing.
Maybe he could start with his roommate. From what he saw, the kid wavered between being painfully shy when it came to people that he didn't know, and cheerful (but still quiet) with his friends. If he could charm him -and Masami had a good feeling about it, so he probably could- then he'd have a friend. Maybe afterwards, he could try and become more friendly with the other people in the class, but for now, one friend would be enough.
It was more than he usually had, anyway.
