Christmas cards are sent, presents are wrapped. Just got to give the presents now, and I'll be completely done. Yay.

Still coughing, but I'll be okay.

My UK-based Christmas card fics are all typed up, and now I just have to write them out inside the cards. Nearly done. :D

Still not great, but feeling a bit better.

Listened to The Natural History of Fear and The Creed of the Kromon this week. Need to get some more Eighth Doctor audios.

(Ghost2, your Christmas card has been sent off. I hope you like it. British ones will be done next week.)

Turns out it's not flu that I have at the moment.

It's sinusitis. And it's a bloody nuisance.

Christmas cards (or Holiday cards, or Feast of Steven cards...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry)

I don't quite get this dreamwidth yet. Give me a week and I'll have picked it up. :D

So, Christmas card post!

Give me a prompt and a fandom that you know I know. Or a character. Or a pairing. Or a crossover...anything, and I'll write you a story and send it to you via post.

(If your address has changed in the last year/since you last wanted a card, please give me that too. Or, if you want it by e-mail, I'm happy to send it that way. :D)

...Rewriting some of my old BR fic. Hoping to get back into it again.

Merry (belated) Christmas/Yule to everyone on my friends list. I would plant a rugby ball into the floor, but that got old several years ago. I will instead wish the lot of you a happy new year.

I don't have any BR2 icons anymore. Need to fix that.

Also, I've been playing 999 (9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors) recently. I like it. It's like Saw, but with mystery bits (a.k.a. like Saw before it went over the top on the gore). There's also (spoiler warning for the True and therefore, the Safe ending) timey-wimey shenanigans, which makes me happy...if confused.

I did manage to send the Christmas cards on time, but with the flooding and weather...*shrugs*. Sorry, guys. D:

- Have finished [livejournal.com profile] versipellis' Christmas card fic. I don't actually have the Christmas cards yet, but I'm going to buy them later this week. If I do the fic first, then I can manage the length and minimise the typo's (I think).

- Finished my Work Programme-mandated course. Didn't get the job. (I'm fine with that. Call centre work does not make for a happy Lucy.)

- The Location gadget seems to think that I'm from Stockport. *amused* Not true at all, I'm afraid.

So, my laptop broke.

RIP Lucy's old laptop (2007-2012).

I have a new one now though. Doesn't come with Microsoft Office, so I've been using Open Office instead. It's actually pretty good (although I really want to turn off the auto correct).

Um, I have a twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/canonicalinsane which is mainly my trueachievement updates at the moment, I have to admit. And I've been playing Kingdoms of Amalur, which is actually a fairly cool game.

Finished ME3.

- Ashley is much, much nicer about her disbelief than Kaidan. She only implies that she thinks that you're a husk.
- Samantha! ♥ If I had any imported playthroughs where I hadn't already romanced either Kaidan or Garrus, I would romance her like a shot. *nods*
-
was the worst part of the game. Fuck the endings. I can take a fucking biotic ninja and his gorram
support. After all, I did it in 2 as part of Archangel's recruitment mission. And then again in...I can't actually remember if it was Samara's recruitment mission or Miranda's loyalty mission, but it was on Illium.
- Banshees are easier than Praetorians. Yes, they are.
- Insanity in ME3 is easier than ME2. Slightly.
- Biotic explosions are amazing.

...I am still working on the fics. ;___;

I have a copy of Jet Set Radio Future. Am currently trying to get the early Graffiti Souls. And, even after finishing Portal 2, the very name of the Skyscraper District still fills me with terror. I died more times there than in probably any game. Ever.

I will finish [livejournal.com profile] 12dayschristmas. Even if I miss the deadline and have to post the other days here. *determined*

I finished Portal 2. ...No spoilers, but...I *spoiler removed* the *spoiler removed*. The fucking *spoiler removed*! What. 0_0

- Please stop me from doing the Strictly/Doctor Who crossover I've got in my head? As much as the Valeyard and Erin would do an amazing Argentine Tango, I think the mental images will kill me.

- Doing an Insanity runthrough of Mass Effect II. I'm stuck at the Collector ship, though. (Also, when they say 'Insanity', they mean it. I must have died about 100 times during this playthrough already.)

- My work placement finished. Hurrah. Now I can do my Christmas shopping, finish my two UK-bound Christmas cards and work on 12dayschristmas. ([livejournal.com profile] ghost2, I have already sent your card. You should get it before Christmas, providing the mail holds up).

- Two missing episodes of Doctor Who have been found. *excited*

- Found the commentary for 'Proof in the Pudding'. Cam's actress and Sweets' actor have just casually admitted that this was taped on St Patrick's Day, and such, they are both really, really drunk. And it's really kind of amazing.
- Throat hurts.
- Started [livejournal.com profile] 12dayschristmas. I'd love prompts, if anyone wants to give me them.

- ...Antitrust (the film, of course) is ever so slightly hilarious in that it was supposed to be against Microsoft's monopoly and general misdeeds in creating said monopoly and yet, the hero does all of his hacking on a Mac. Pot, meet kettle. Although, that being said, the ending sequence is awesome.

- Trying to do a marathon of Bones is hard. From what I can remember of last night, there was a university worse than mine about...six episodes ago (my university, despite having a Chancellor who could clearly beat pretty much everyone else's in a guitar battle, was so bad that we ranked lower than Manchester Met. Just saying), Sweets experimented on Booth and Brennan to prove that he's as messed up and in need of colleagues as the rest of them (or he experimented on them because he's secretly Gormogan and his cheerful and overly friendly mask accidentally slipped, showing the amoral sadist underneath. [/conspiracy theory]) and Susie Costello randomly showed up and insisted that she had a very active sex life and was a member of Scotland Yard.

- My voluntary job is going well. The work placement (which I was supposed to start on the third) got delayed by a few weeks, though.

- Have a work placement. Starts 3rd October.

- Managed to get a copy of Darling's memoirs. He goes off-topic a lot, and there's a terrible joke about comparing what him and Osborne tended to do during the summer recess (and he apparently really resents Vince Cable for...something, I'm not entirely sure why), but it's not that bad a read. It's a little annoying that he's used the Americanised spellings, though.

...I hold to the fact that my imaginary Strictly 2011 is still better than the actual one. Despite the fact that it involves Gordon Brown dancing (also? Theresa May > Edwina Currie. I hate the fact that I've had to say that Theresa May is better than two three* other hardline female Tories, because I think she's annoying, but I'm going to have to keep saying it, I guess).

Although, if Rory Bremner does his Tony Blair/Michael Howard/David Blunkett impression even once, I will probably be happy enough to vote for him to win. *shrugs*

* Three because...well, Christine Hamilton.

- Good news everyone! [/Futurama] For one afternoon a week, I will be working at a charity shop about half a mile from my house. Look, I know, it isn't a proper job, but it's a reference to replace the...um...terrible one that I've been suspecting that my last employers have been giving anyone whom asks. And it's experience. And I should still be able to get Jobseekers, since it's four hours a week.

- This is going to be hilarious (and possibly mean that there's more Darling/Brown fic on the lolitics meme, which cannot be a bad thing). Icon related, clearly (I need to find Headcases again on youtube).

- Didn't like Let's Kill Hitler. It was disappointing. There were good bits (like flashback!Amy realising that Rory actually genuinely fancies her, Rory punching out various people...okay, just Rory in general, then), but it feels like they're undoing all of the good work from last series in making me actually like River.

- I'm playing Mass Effect 2 again. Recruited Morinth for the first time. I need to get back into practice by the time 3 comes out. Unfortunately, this is a Normal difficulty playthrough, and I've only ever played it through on Casual before (yes, I died to the Praetorian on Horizon. Multiple fucking times).

- May have a voluntary job. Maybe.

- Been reading the first book of the Mistborn series. I was surprised at how much I liked it, and there were at least three big twists at the end that I totally did not see coming (and they were fantastic and made the entire storyline make absolutely more sense). Haven't read the other two books yet, though (also, the Inquisitors have spikes through fucking everywhere *shudders*).

- My brother has finally let me have my mum's copy of Game of Thrones. Think it's going to be overrated, but *shrugs*. We'll see.

- New Doctor Who Saturday. Looking forward to it.

- Am okay. Had to reboot my computer from scratch (Norton got corrupted and stopped Mozilla & Internet Explorer working, which meant that I couldn't get the internet). Managed to keep most of my documents (transferred them to my phone before rebooting, before transferring back afterwards), but have spent the last couple of days getting all of my programs back.

- Have an interview on Thursday. Housing Management Apprenticeship. Wish me luck, please?

- Parents are on holiday for a week. Left me and my brother in charge of the house. It's lonely, but I have control of the TV for once (yay, I can watch Mock the Week on an actual honest-to-god TV ♥)
