16 things about me...

Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 16 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 16 people to be tagged. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.

* I hate my hair. I spent most of my life being teased about it, and now I'm always annoyed about it.
* I get addicted to songs very easily. Right now, I love Flobots' 'Handlebars' and Ladyhawke's 'My Delirium' (go listen to them. Now.). And I hum in class, even when I haven't got an MP3/CD player on me.
* I love RPG's. The more insane the better (hey, we're dead people fighting monsters with a pin and a stuffed cat? Sign me up! XD [/fangirls]). Mainly Square-Enix (because they tend to have nice graphics and good music).
* I want to get a job in the Electoral Office (and rig Warrington to vote for the Liberal Democrats...wait, you weren't supposed to know about that *shot*).
* I'm aiming for a 2:1. I'm decent, but I'm not good enough to get a first. A 2:1 would be nice and within reach.
* I am kind of shy. If I start talking to someone who I'm not used to talking to, even if it's just a question, I've probably spent ten minutes thinking of all of the different ways that person can tell me where to shove it. Even if the person actually turns out to be really friendly and proceeds to have a long conversation with me after I start talking.
* I hate working in a team for anything. I tell everyone that it's because I don't think that the other people in the team will work to my standards (and I'm usually right in non-roleplaying matters) but it's actually because I'm scared that at some point, I won't work up to their standards.
* I bit my nails until I was 17 years old. I stopped in 2006.
* I love reading about the Supreme Court. I love the arguments that go on, the general composition of it, the fact that sometimes, a President appoints a Justice and has no idea what he's just landed himself into (Eisenhower's appointment of Earl Warren is one of the more classic examples) and I love the impartiality of it (okay, there are conservatives and liberals, but the conservative Justices can slap the Republican party down just as quickly as the liberals). It's awesome.
* I never finished reading Eragon. I got twenty pages in, decided that it wasn't worth my time and gave up. I've also never thought about going back to finish it either (luckily, it was a library copy so I didn't have to waste money on it).
* I've always been interested in history. It was my favourite subject in primary school (elementary) mainly because it had people getting killed in violent and bloody ways (oddly enough, I've actually become less bloodthirsty as I grew up, innocence of childhood my arse...) and then I had a string of awful teachers in high school, but the one for my last year (I can't remember his name, but he specialised in Irish History and was a very demanding teacher in the 'I love my subject, therefore everything has to be perfect, okay? ♥?' way) really managed to get me enthusiastic about it again. And from there I've had a chain of history teachers who really loved their subject (a James I fanboy, a hardcore feminist who specialised in the American Civil Rights movement, a lecturer with a penchant for going off on one about the sugar trade in a voice that BRIAN BLESSED would be proud of [in a thick Scouse accent, no less] and my current Stalin Terror lecturer, who fucking bounces around the room. I kid you not), so I'm loving it at the moment.
* I read too much into things. This really helped me in English Literature (and English Language) because I saw symbolism and deeper meanings behind absolutely everything, but it also means that I can see insults that aren't necessarily there, interpret a person as being a bit of a bitch when he/she actually isn't. This...doesn't make me that popular, I'm afraid.
* I can read really fucking fast. I read the last Harry Potter book in about three hours. Cover to cover. And it isn't just skimming either (although I couldn't tell you what the third word on page 213 is or really nitpicky questions like that).
* I never learned how to ride a bike (and therefore I can't ride one with no handlebars).
* I started wearing glasses at about nine (ten?). I've been wearing contact lenses on and off for about four years (although mainly for uni/the cinema).
* I'm not that close to my family. I live with them, but...when I was younger, I always got the impression that my parents favoured my brother (which, they've recently admitted is actually mostly true, so yay for insightful child!Lucy!) and that strained my relationship with all three of them somewhat. I'm also a lot less organised and a lot better at winging it than all of them (you may have noticed that I'm really good at that, right? I thought I noticed you noticing. :D), so we had many arguments about them telling me not to leave my homework until the last minute and me deciding to do it anyway (they gave up when I still got 12 GCSE's from A to C even after leaving every piece of coursework until the day before the final deadline).
